A program, and a separate referral
Donating venison near Middleboro means using Hunters Share the Harvest, not assuming a trusted area processor is enrolled. Middleboro Prime is a referral line. It is not a processor, and it is not a club. MassWildlife lists Middleboro Sportsmens Club among groups that have given money to Hunters Share the Harvest. That listing is about support for the program. It does not make this referral line the club, and it does not mean the club processes deer.
Hunters consult the official program map to see which processors are taking donations. This site never places a trusted area processor on that map. If you want the meat for your own freezer, pricing comes from a trusted area processor. If you want a program donation, the map and the program rules decide the path. Town centers in Middleborough, Lakeville, Rochester, Carver, Plympton, and Halifax, checked on MassGIS, are in Zone 11. The permit talk below follows that zone.
What a whole donation requires
A qualifying whole-deer donation carries no processing fee for the hunter. The program describes a replacement antlerless permit, including a permit for Zone 11, arriving in two to four weeks. Partner participation is unknown, so the permit timeline is a program description, not a promise from this phone line. The deer is recovered and field dressed within 4 hours after the shot unless the ambient air temperature stays below 37F. That clock is a Hunters Share the Harvest inclusion rule. It is also sane meat handling.
The deer is reported within 48 hours. On MassFishHunt, log in, open the harvest report on the customer dashboard, and submit the harvest report. Mark the tag with the confirmation number. During the first shotgun week, November 30 to December 5, the report is an in-person check station. The official page is the checklist for the online steps. Until the report is finished, field dressing is the only cut that should already be done.
Whole means the donated deer is handled under the program, not a trim you set aside with no paperwork. Read the partial-donation guide before you assume a hindquarter counts. Some processors may choose not to allow partial donations. This page does not quote program discounts, and it does not claim a trusted area processor allows a partial gift.
Map, meat you keep, and the call
Field care and the report are spelled out on the drop-off page. After those steps, call if you still need a trusted area processor for meat you are keeping, or if you need help understanding what to ask. Acceptance of any carcass is confirmed on the call. Hours, capacity, cuts, sausage, jerky, a skin-only job, quarters, a cape, and any other animal are unconfirmed. Taxidermy is separate.
A deer from the Nemasket River flats, from Route 105 along Assawompset Pond, or from the south side of Middleborough at Rocky Gutter Wildlife Management Area follows the same donation rules. Myles Standish State Forest, on the Carver side, has its own forest rules. Check those rules before you hunt there. The donation clock still starts at the shot.
